Keeping Clients, Families, and Caregivers Safe During COVID-19

Official statement from Amada Senior Care

At this point, COVID-19 has already had a significant impact on many our lives. From closed down schools to sold out home essentials, we’re all feeling its effects in some shape or form.

Since the elderly are especially vulnerable to COVID-19, we want to ensure our clients, their families, and our staff that we are closely monitoring this situation and are taking every precaution necessary to help prevent the spread of this virus. The health and safety of our clients, communities and caregivers will always be a top priority at Amada Senior Care.

Amada Senior Care caregivers are trained on how to reduce the risk of infectious diseases. This training is something we continually stress in order to ensure its implementation. As we have always done, we strongly encourage staff and caregivers to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines to prevent the spread of this illness. Hand washing, remaining home when sick and taking extra precautions when working with clients who are sick are especially important during this time.

We have also provided our network of locations with additional, COVID-19 specific information and training to help protect clients and themselves. How You Can Join the Fight Against Alzheimer’s

World Alzheimer’s Month in September is an opportunity to raise awareness about this complex disease and to challenge the stigmas surrounding dementia. Launched in 2012, the awareness month spotlights the fact that 2 out of every 3 people globally believe there is little understanding of dementia in their countries. Film Screening at Samvedna Senior Care

On 30th September, 2019, Samvedna Senior Care Foundation hosted the 2nd film festival of generations in association with Heidelberg University, Germany. The film Sputnik Moment – 30 years and beyond was screened at our senior citizen centre in Gurgaon for our members and staff. The film highlighted how senior citizens in Germany and the US were taking up second careers to fill their time, engage meaningfully and also get support through additional income. Post the screening Dr. Martin Gieselmann, Executive Secretary, SAI, Heidelberg University and Dr. Constanze, Coordinator DAAD Project, Heidelberg University along with our team engaged with the audience in an interesting discussion on the Indian scenario.
